DAILYJILI Gambling Help: Who to Call and What to Do

In the Philippines, gambling help runs on three tracks: a PAGCOR-accredited help centre such as National Problem Gambling at (02) 8248 9568, a PAGCOR self-exclusion or family exclusion, and a doctor or mental health professional.

Gambling help in the Philippines comes in three kinds, and the quickest way to the right one is to name your problem first. If you want to stop, there are help centres and a PAGCOR ban you can start today. If you are worried about someone else, there is family exclusion, and if you are unsure, a screening and a doctor come first.

This page matches each situation to the people who handle it, using only the numbers printed by the bodies themselves. Read the table, pick the row that sounds like you, and make that one call before you do anything else tonight.

Gambling hotline Philippines: numbers you can call

These are the numbers as the bodies print them. Read them again on the body’s own site before you call.

  1. National Problem Gambling (PAGCOR-accredited): landline (02) 8248 9568, email support@npgh.ph.
  2. Gamblers Anonymous Philippines (PAGCOR-accredited): 0915 938 2808.
  3. Bridges of Hope Drugs and Alcohol Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. (PAGCOR-accredited): (02) 622-0193 or 0917 509 8826.
  4. NCMH Crisis Hotline, as printed on the DOH Cordillera page: 09178998726, 09663514518 and 09086392672.
  5. Hotline 1326, the Inter-Agency Response Center, for online scams and cybercrime, open 24/7. It is a scam line, not a gambling help line.

Gamblers Anonymous also lists an online open meeting, “G.A. Pilipinas - All in Home Group”, on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time, on Zoom. Its meeting ID and access code are printed on the GA listing, so read them there. Gam-Anon Philippines is the support group for family and friends.

On a first call, you do not need a plan. Say how long you have been gambling, how much you have lost, and whether anyone else knows. Write the number down before you dial, and write down what the person tells you to do next, so that tomorrow’s version of you has the same instructions as tonight’s.

Block yourself: PAGCOR self-exclusion and family exclusion

PAGCOR’s exclusion page describes two programmes. Self-exclusion is for people who feel they are developing a problem, with a period of 6 months, 1 year or 5 years; the first six months cannot be reversed, and the order lifts itself when the period ends. Family exclusion is for a spouse, child or parent, with a period of 6 months, 1 year or 3 years.

  1. Fill in the self-exclusion or family-exclusion application form from PAGCOR’s exclusion page.
  2. Attach a photocopy of your government-issued photo ID, plus two 2x2 colour photos taken in the last six months.
  3. For family exclusion, add the respondent’s ID and the proof of the family tie: a birth certificate for a parent or child, a marriage certificate for a spouse.
  4. Email PAGCOR at ResponsibleGaming@pagcor.ph or use the drop box at the MET Live Building, Central Business Park 1-A, Macapagal Blvd cor. EDSA Extension, Pasay City.

PAGCOR says the exclusion is implemented across all sites licensed and operated by PAGCOR. Ask any operator you use whether it is covered. You can also ask the lobby’s Customer Services chat what limit or break tools it offers; the lobby shows the headset button and the chat bubble for that.

Know the signs, the score and the treatment

Four pages go deeper on the clinical side, each answering one question.

PageThe question it answers
signs of problem gambling clinicians useWhich signs separate a problem from a bad run, and how many count?
the SOGS screening testWhat is the SOGS, how is it scored, and what does a score mean?
gambling rehab in the PhilippinesWhat does treatment involve and where does it start?
gambling withdrawal symptoms to expectWhat can happen when you cut down or stop?

The American Psychiatric Association says a diagnosis of gambling disorder needs at least four of its listed signs in the past year. Mayo Clinic describes compulsive gambling as the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll on your life. A screening score is a prompt to talk to a professional, never a diagnosis.

Words and myths that keep players stuck

Three pages take on the beliefs and traps around gambling.

  1. Lucky charm myths and what decides a spin: no charm moves a result.
  2. Why the house always wins over time: a ₱100 red bet on American roulette costs about ₱5.26 on average, and that is arithmetic, not a streak.
  3. A budol scam and where to report it: scammers dress up as casinos, agents and prize texts.

If the Tagalog phrase for your problem is “lulong sa sugal”, start with lulong sa sugal and the first steps.

Set limits before you play

PAGCOR’s responsible gaming reminders say gambling is not a source of income, to set time limits for each session, never to borrow money or use all your resources, and not to chase losses. Two glossary pages turn these into numbers. Read what a loss limit means to set the most you will lose in a session, and bankroll management and its meaning to decide how much money is yours to play with at all.

An example, with round numbers you choose: if your session limit is ₱500 and you lose ₱500, you stop, whatever the next spin might do. PAGCOR bars anyone under 21 from gambling, and this site says 21+ everywhere. See responsible gaming on this site for how this site frames play.

If you decide to play within your limits, the lobby is covered on the DAILYJILI casino overview and lobby tour.

FAQ

Where can I get gambling help in the Philippines?

PAGCOR lists accredited help centres, including National Problem Gambling at (02) 8248 9568 and Gamblers Anonymous Philippines at 0915 938 2808. You can also apply for self-exclusion through PAGCOR, or speak to a doctor or mental health professional.

Is there a gambling hotline in the Philippines?

The numbers PAGCOR prints for help centres are the gambling-specific lines, and the NCMH Crisis Hotline numbers on the DOH Cordillera page are for a mental health crisis. Scam reports go to hotline 1326, which is not a gambling help line.

Can I ban myself from casinos in the Philippines?

Yes. PAGCOR runs a self-exclusion programme with periods of 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, and the first six months cannot be reversed. It applies across the sites licensed and operated by PAGCOR.

Can my family make me stop gambling?

A spouse, child or parent can apply to PAGCOR for family exclusion for 6 months, 1 year or 3 years. It needs forms, IDs and proof of the family tie, and it does not replace talking with the person and with a professional.

Does a screening score mean I have a problem?

No. A questionnaire such as the SOGS gives a score that is a prompt to talk to a professional, never a diagnosis. Only a doctor or mental health professional can diagnose.

What should I do first if I am losing control?

Stop playing for today, tell one person you trust, and call a help centre from the table on this page. If you feel in crisis, use the NCMH Crisis Hotline numbers listed here.
