The Maya wallet is the part of Maya that holds pesos for you to spend, send and pay with. When a casino banner says PayMaya, this is the wallet it means, because PayMaya is the wallet’s earlier name. Before you use it at a cashier, know who issues it and what the rules say it may hold.
What is Maya, and who issues the wallet
Maya’s About page describes Maya as an all-in-one money app: a wallet, plus digital banking powered by Maya Bank. Two companies stand behind it, and the footer of every maya.ph page names both as regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
| Name | What it is | Where it is stated |
|---|---|---|
| Maya Philippines, Inc. | Remittance company, electronic money issuer, operator of payment systems and virtual asset service provider | Maya’s terms, section 1.2 |
| Maya Bank, Inc. | A digital bank supervised by the BSP; deposits insured by the PDIC up to PHP 1,000,000 per depositor | Maya Bank’s About page |
| Maya Philippines, Incorporated | Entry 19 in the non-bank section of the BSP’s list of supervised EMIs, 31 May 2026 | BSP list of EMIs |
The wallet itself is issued by Maya Philippines, Inc. Maya Bank is the separate arm that handles savings.
The Maya e-wallet in Maya’s own terms
Section 18.1 of Maya’s terms defines the Maya e-wallet in one sentence: the Maya Account is a reloadable electronic wallet that stores Philippine Peso, redeemable only at face value. You can spend what is loaded on the in-app shop, by QR, at a point of sale or online with a merchant that honours the payment schemes.
The same section sets four rules you can count:
- It does not earn interest.
- It is not a depository account, so it is not covered by the PDIC.
- It is a personal account and is not for business use unless Maya has agreed in writing.
- It is subject to BSP rules, anti-money-laundering law and the Data Privacy Act.
The digital wallet page sets out where the BSP’s own definition of e-money says the same things.
What the Maya wallet is allowed to hold
How much the wallet holds depends on the account level. These monthly wallet balance limits come from Maya’s account-limits page.
| Account level | Monthly wallet balance limit |
|---|---|
| Basic | PHP 50,000 |
| Upgraded | PHP 100,000 |
| Super Users | PHP 500,000 |
| Ultimate Users | PHP 5,000,000 |
Maya says the monthly limit is subject to change. Open your profile in the Maya app and choose Account Limits to read yours. The kinds of Maya account explains the levels, and how to verify a Maya account is the route up from Basic.
From the wallet to a casino cashier
The lobby’s own banner, read on 27 September 2026, named PayMaya, and that is the one wallet it names in public. Amounts, limits and processing notes are on the Deposit and Withdrawal screens after you log in. The pillar page PayMaya casino setup in Maya puts the wallet steps in order, and the Maya casino reference row carries the shared payments data.
